In this episode of Exploration Crochet, ReRe begins her Craft Yarn Council Level I journey to become a certified crochet instructor. Drawing on her experience teaching others, advising Yarn Over Hook members, and working with elementary-school students, she explores the difference between knowing how to crochet and knowing how to teach it. ReRe explains the CYC certification requirements, including evaluated crochet work, lesson planning, pattern interpretation, and at least 15 hours of student teaching. She also introduces notable crocheters connected to the program, including Linda Dean, Karen Klemp, Marie Segares, and Elise Rose. Along the way, she discovers why returning to crochet fundamentals can help an experienced maker become a more thoughtful and effective teacher.
